The firm is excited to announce the addition of highly respected attorneys, Al Golden, Jerry Frank Jones, and Kat Akinc. Effective August 28, 2017, the name of the firm is Brink Bennett Flaherty Golden pllc.

Al, Jerry, and Kat are each Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and will bring substantial depth and experience to the firm's estate planning, taxation, estate and trust administration, probate, and fiduciary and trust litigation practices.

With the additions of Al, Jerry, and Kat, the firm boasts 7 attorneys that are Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate, more than any other law firm in Central Texas. Al and Jerry are both past Chairs of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. In 2010, Al was presented the Outstanding Probate and Trust Lawyer Lifetime Achievement Award by the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Jason R. Flaherty to speak at 40th Annual Advanced Estate Planning & Probate Course

On June 23, 2016, Jason R. Flaherty will speak at the 40th Annual Advanced Estate Planning & Probate Course in San Antonio sponsored by the Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. Jason's presentation will be addressed to an audience of several hundred attorneys who specialize in trust and estate planning. Jason's presentation is titled "Estate Planning for the Terminally Ill Client.”

Rhonda H. Brink and Jason R. Flaherty to speak at 27th Annual Estate Planning & Probate Drafting Course

On October 6-7, 2016, Jason R. Flaherty and Rhonda H. Brink will be speakers at the 27th Annual Estate Planning & Probate Drafting Course in Dallas sponsored by the Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. Jason's and Rhonda's presentations will be addressed to an audience of several hundred attorneys who specialize in preparing wills, trusts and other estate planning documents. Jason's presentation is titled "The Legal Requirements of Aircraft Ownership" and focuses on the tax and other legal issues frequently encountered with private aircraft. Rhonda's presentation, co-presented with Brooke Hardie, is titled "Drafting Property Agreements for Unmarried Couples" and addresses the impact of new laws on existing estate plans for same-gender spouses and committed couples and drafting tools for same-gender spouses who may or may not be formally or informally married.
